Club Camping June 25-26
We have June 25-26 on the calendar as a camping weekend.
We have not picked a place to camp yet. So I ask, 'who wants to go camping?'
Where do we want to go?
Please give me your feedback.

I have had thoughts of doing a VW camping trip to Redtop Mountain on Lake Allatoona.

I checked out Red Top Mnt and it looks like a good trip. We typically try to camp within an hour's drive of Athens when we are doing a two day camp.
All VW folks are welcome to join us any time. It doesn't matter if you are in another club or any club at all.

So is it Red Top Mt. then? or............. Either way, we will try to make it.

It is still to be decided where we will camp. Fort Yargo and Watson's Mill are still options; just waiting for more feedback.

Re: Club Camping June 25-26
I could join y'all for the day on Saturday but have a previous commitment for Sunday.
Re: Club Camping June 25-26
Talked with Jon (Hobug) Sunday It looks like the campout is going to be at Fort Yargo. Fort Yargo is a really nice park very shaded with Hiking trails, Putt-Putt Golf, Disk Golf, Fishing, canoeing, A beach with swimming and much more. Lots of stuff for adults and kids to do. If you are interested in fishing don't forget to get your fishing license. Here is a Link to the Park. http://www.gastateparks.org/FortYargo If you don't want to camp come anyway and hang out.

I tried to reserve Friday and Saturday night, but Friday is full. We can all take our chances on Saturday morning or Watson's Mill State Park has sites available both nights. Whatca think?

I think we should postpone until we can get both nights.

I think you are right. James can't make it either. Little Jon and I will still camp somewhere; I'll post where in case someone wants to join us.
Re: Club Camping June 25-26
Yep, Do to a misunderstanding The Cub Scout camping trip for Friday night is also for Saturday too. Meaning I will not be able to camp out with the Athens Club this weekend.

Re: Club Camping June 25-26
As far as I can tell, it is only Lil Jon and I camping. I made reservations at Hard Labor Creek State Park for Friday and Saturday nights. They have plenty of sites still available. Come camp with us or drop by during the day on Saturday. If you come by, remember to bring your chairs and refreshments, as we may not have enough of either.

I'm hurt that you would think I would make some off-color comment in the middle of your thread.
If I am able to break free and come visit I will give ya a call......
and I will bring a magnifying glass to look for your thing.....

Re: Club Camping June 25-26
Hard Labor Creek State Park is the place to go. There were many sites open all weekend. We had a good time even though it did rain on Friday night. We stayed dry and it was nice and cool after the storm. Sorry no one else could make it. We'll try again.
