Whatta Day.
Well I had big plans today,
7 am change the oil and check the valves in Sally.
7:45 found out one of the jam nuts on the rocker was stripped, no problem had some spares.
8:15 valve covers back on, oil in the case, going to check the points somehow smashed my distributor cap, no problem had a spare.
9 am everything looks good till decklid prop somehow flies out decklid hits me, And it seems all i could find to break my fall was the muffler.
Yea it was hot. Stayed inside all day.

Re: Whatta Day.
Mine do stuff like that if I neglect them too long or spend too much time with my wife.

Re: Whatta Day.
Everything is better now, My hand is healing up nicely.
I do have a question how can I tell if my distributor is starting to fail?
my timing seems to be moving around a bit. I have timed it with a static light and a strobe light it is a 009 dis timed to 7.5 btdc.
Thanks.

Re: Whatta Day.
I always time the 009 at full advance, around 3000 RPM. And I time it to 28 to 30 degrees btdc.
Re: Whatta Day.
It seems like these newer 009's have alot of scatter.... I took an older one I had and got it cleaned up and adjusted and it is more stable than the other one by a long shot.
