Re: vegas
Drive to Vegas. Well...that's a two to three day drive one way and a couple of days there and a three day drive back. That's 10 days and about $1000 for rooms, meals and gas. Hm.........doable in 2011 I think. I'll ponder it.
Re: vegas
I want to go on this, me wife thinks I'm crazy but it is something that I have on my bucket list. To travel to the west coast in my VW, which ever one I own at the time!
Re: vegas
I'm for this to just give me a month or more notice. Bob we'll have a blast on the road.

If i ever get a bug with everything new on it, then maybe, otherwise, i'd never trust my dubs going that far . AAA only gives me 200 miles

Re: vegas
Hey bugman114...how's the Gazelle project coming along? Think trip to Vegas in the Gazelle. That'd be waaaaaay cool!
Re: vegas
nike yo got a year and 3 months that gives you time to get the gazelle an you can go ahead an put every thing in new or refreashed it would be cool74Ghia wrote:Hey bugman114...how's the Gazelle project coming along? Think trip to Vegas in the Gazelle. That'd be waaaaaay cool!
Re: vegas
Actually, thats why its taking me so damn long to get the gazelle running, lol. I'm trying to make sure everything is new, except for the really good OE german stuff (crank, rods, lifters, case, Tins, etc.). But every thing else will be new, cause i don't wanna break down. . Right now i'm still whire wheelin on the chassis, and fixin to install the floor pans.
versus my rail, it's comming together nicely. not going all out on it. really just trying to thrash build it. and when i get it running, thats when i'll start to mods (3X3's or 5X5's, bus tranny with 10 degree kit, coil overs w/ thru rods, longer front trailing arms, 6 inch wider warrior beam, turbo (duh!) etc. But thats another story

Re: vegas
Well when I get my Ghia finished and running, hopefully within the month, then I'll start saving my $$$ for my new project. Either a Gazelle kit car or a MG kit car. I want to do either of those from the ground up.
Re: vegas
I was thinking about making my own hard top out of fiberglass. because if the air conditioning system works out on my 72 super, i'm gonna make another A/C system for my gazelle. I could even find a condensor that would fit in the fake radiator up front. ahh, the possibilities

Re: vegas
It would cool to cruise to KCW in Grand Junction, CO and meet up with John Jones and the guys. Stay a day then all head out to Vegas together, that would be a sight to see. My wife was in Vegas last October for business and said the weather was perfect, 50's at night and high 70's during the day and NO HUMIDITY.
BTW, I have family in Vegas, so my room is covered. Wife gave the OK to hit the road for a week or so. She said its only fair since I let her go to NYC with her best friend for a week while I watched our 2 boys. I think I still haven't fully recovered from that ordeal.
