6v generator

So i started hearing a high pitched whining from my engine- pulled the fan belt to check the generator and there was a good bit of play in the shaft that connects to the fan.

Does anybody know of a local shop tht can refurbish these or replace the bearings? Or have an idea on how much tht would cost.

Looking online and the cheapest i see is $109.00-not tht bad but im low on funds now and need a new 28 pict carb as well.

I got a Worldwide brand generator from Advanced and I have had no issues. Come with a two year warranty so worst case, you can replace it every two. They also sell the bearings. The gen is 55 bucks.

thanks scott- Im wary about trying to fix the generator myself- anybody done this?
the gen link you posted is 12v- no 6v available.

checking out some other of the chain store sites now..

I have a good oe used 12v generator if you are interested. $25 + shipping. I took it off to go with an alternator. I also have 2 28pict cores that you can have for $5 each + shipping.

These guys were going to rebuild the alt. for my Caddy, but it was as cheap to get a new one...seem to be good guys and is the kind of place where they've been there since the Model-T...I'd give them a call for parts or rebuilding it.

I have a used working 6volt generate that I would be willing to swap for a working 12v.

Man, I'm sorry, they are 30pict-1. You probably have no use for them.
