I don't drive a beetle!

If one more person refers to my bus as a bug......I might just.....well, I might just rant here so everyone can make fun of me. "Hey man, nice Bug". Really!? Does the yosemite yellow loaf of bread I drive around really look like a beetle????? So how bout it? Do you beetle drivers have random people saying "Hey nice notchback". How about you thing, gia, squareback, ect drivers? What are the laymen calling your rides?

Bah! Most of the dudes who come up to me and refer to it as a bug are drunk. I just look at their Mustang and say... "I like your Pinto too."
or Mercedes... "That's a cool Volvo."
or Corvette... "I've always liked Chevettes."

I get alot of people asking what year my "van" is. I really don't care but if you're interested enough to ask you ought to know what to call it.

i couldn't tell ya how many people have asked (about my bug), "thats a volvo, right?" WTF

how bout, you really think that thing looks good? When there driving around an expedition at 13mpg looking like every other person with an $30k suv as a dd all by them selves inside, at least I dont have a hard time finding my bug in a parking lot Its the only one that looks this way I hope

I have trouble finding mine in a parking lot- can't see it among the sea of SUV's

I bet you never walked up to the wrong bug and tried to get in it though Ive seen people fighting with someone elses car WHY WONT MY KEY WORK!!! :Laughing:

I have people call my fastback a bug all the time... I'm thrilled they even associate it with being a volkswagen... people call my 1998 sedan a bug too... but I still don't get mad... not sure who came up with the term bug and bus... they are the sedan and the station wagon... so how about we stop referring to your mode of transportation as a bug or a bus and call it by its proper name?

Sometimes you just have to learn to let things go... I don't even argue with the people that tell me about their 58 super beetle with factory ac anymore... i just smile and nod and let them tell their story... i found it easier that way!

True. The "bus" was listed as a station wagon until 1977 when ads emerged labeling them a van.
