Re: 1963 Vert Restore
Cool project! If you need any help I am in Zebulon but I work in locust grove. Hope to see it on the road!
Re: 1963 Vert Restore
Is that the worst spot at the Drivers Quarter? If that is all you have to replace on the body then you got a nice project. Pans, those look typical to me, very easy fix. Most replaced part on any VW model!
Re: 1963 Vert Restore

Re: 1963 Vert Restore
If that were mine, I probably would have welded some steel bars across the top of the door openings before pulling the body off the pan. It would add some rigidity without relying on the heater channels and convertable support rails, and you could cut them off once the body and pan are reunited. Just my two cents worth, but I certainly wish you the best on your upcoming restoration!

Re: 1963 Vert Restore
I will be following this for sure!! The wife is wanting an early vert and with the prices they are wanting for them, I will probably find a project like this to keep it somewhat affordable!!

Re: 1963 Vert Restore
Got the front beam and suspension off to install the narrowed adjustable beam i got from bryce and started pulling the rear off when i find that the torsion beam had been bent then pulled back and welded back only problem is that it is offset about 1 in. from the other side. So called jeff and will be getting a pan from him so looks like I'm back at the starting line again.
Also pulled the motor out of my daughter's bug....

63 Vert
Hello from Ohio!
I just wanted to say hi. I ran across your Forum found it to be a great place to stop for a while. I also have a 63 vert that has been a project of mine for many years. It is Finally going to hit the road this summer. I'll try and add a pic. When I started it looked very similar to your new project. If you need any info I'll do what I can to help out. Best of luck! Rob
