3D print it
With used 3D printers going for $100-150 and software free online, it makes since to begin using this technology more. This is a simple example, but it saved my several days of waiting for a part and allowed me to customize with limits that depend mostly on my imagination.
Here is an anti-rattle bushing that I printed with a few attempts to get the printer settings correct. As for the software, I used fusion 360 which is free and has lots of YouTube videos to help you get started.
yes, it took a few trys to get the settings right and make a few changes to the design.

Re: 3D print it
Unfortunately, the heating element of my printer burnt out while I was working on my next print, so I am between spending ~$70 on new parts or just getting another used printer....but since I am out of the picture for awhile- here is an idea from Andrig which has redesigned the cooling fan at a fraction of the weight of the stock...the are lots of engineering considerations here due to the heat and stress put on this type of part, but it due highlight some of the more extreme possibilities of 3D printing.

Re: 3D print it
My next prints will be a bracket that fits into the rear view mirror slot to support the 5 panel mirror I am currently using....once I have a working printer again...⁶ and finish the design.
Would be interested in what anyone else has created or is working on
