1961 Baja Beetle
I picked this car up over the weekend for cheap. It came with a 7 extra fenders (one full set, two matching rears, and one odd rear), an extra apron, a set of 5 smoothies, two banded smoothies and two 15" centerlines that look to be 4" or so wide. I also bought two rivieras, two front early fenders and a funky fiberglass hood for wall art. Anyway I am not exactly sure what I will do with the car.....it is rough and needs at least some a pillar work, package tray work and a set of pans.
Re: 1961 Baja Beetle
I got everything unloaded today to see what I had. First I pulled the center lines and put the smoothies that were on the rear on the front. Then I installed the banded smoothies that came with the car on the rear. From there I decided to just try and get everything that went to the car mounted back on it. I started with the rear valence and then went to the front end. Before attaching the front apron I removed the ratty front bumper and tossed it. I just used the holes that were already there to rivet the apron back on. I tapped all the fender bolt holes out and bought new bolts and mounted the front fenders. Before putting it away in the staging area I gave it a bath to knock the funk off.
