Re: 1966 Deluxe
Got the BAD Series brakes from Airkeweled installed and adjusted today. Install went as planned without any problems. Was able to get the pads bedded this afternoon and drove around for a bit. The bus now stops on a dime and tracks tru and straight. Even at a hard panic stop at speed the bus stops straight with no vibration or chatter. The only issue I had during the install was the speed bleeders from Russel Mfg. It took a try or two before I found the right amount to loosen the bleeder so it would only let out air instead of fluid, but once I found the sweet spot they truely made bleeding the brakes a one man job. Here's a few pics:

Re: 1966 Deluxe
You need to steal some pinch nuts off a bay. Much easier than the stock set up for holding the bearings in place IMO.

Re: 1966 Deluxe
Installed the original style mirrors back on today. I have wanted to do this and get rid of the crappy 80's turbo mirrors for a while now. The hold-up was figuring out the best method to remove the old mirror arm base from the hinge. (They just cut off the old mirror arms at the base, so the convential method of removal via a hinge pin removal tool would not work) The best method seemed to be to drive the arm out with an air hammer. I found out that Pete (grifspop) had the needed tool, so I dropped by his place today to borrow it. I cut a hole in a moving blanket to try to protect the door if it got away from us, and James (tronview) volunteered to do the honors..... The air hammer worked like a charm and drove the arm bases right out. All that is remaining to do is get the screw holes in the door filled, and little paint matching for the doors and arms and done.
I know the locking tabs are not bent over, I just want to make sure they are adjusted good before I lock em down.

Yeah it is, he told me you was doing the spare this color when I picked up the pan this afternoon. I am thinking of doing my gas tank in this color as well.

Re: 1966 Deluxe
where are yall taking your parts to be powdercoated? do you have to do a bunch of parts, or will they do a single piece? do they also sand blast the parts, or do we have to do that ourselves? also for example, how much was that splash pan, if ya don't mind me askin?

Re: 1966 Deluxe
Yeah, I just couldn't justify spending $200. to chrome plate the spare alloy, but it should look cool powdercoated gray
