Cherokee 2014 camping trip. August 8-10

We will be heading out Friday morning via 75 to 285 to 85 to 985 to 441

Bummer. I think ill be fine to make it though. This is my first trip what do I need to bring? Do yall do your own thing or kinda mingle together..like food n stuff?

We usually bring our own food.....sometimes we cook together but nothing has been said about doing that.....I know on Saturday we are going to Gatlinburg so we will probably eat there...In our convoy its suppose to be me, Ashley, Mom, Dad, Sonia and Mike....so three buses and we may leave later on Friday as something came up on Friday morning that Dad has to do.....also not sure when everyone else is leaving so maybe they will chime in

Korbin Christi and I will be heading out Friday around lunch or maybe earlier. Not sure what we are going to be doing Saturday. Just going with the flow and relaxing. Looking forward to seeing everybody soon.

I wont be on the road until 430 friday cant get out of work early. Anyone leaving that late? Prolly not lol.

Deb and I are heading up Friday morning arond 9am, We hape to just take our time and enjoy the ride. Its about a 3hr ride for us. Saturday looking to just chill out at the sites.

Never had the bus on a trip this far anxious to see how she will do lol! Hope we make it ok! Got all my necessary repairs done and maintnance just gotta buy food next week on the way and head out!

I'm sure the bus will do just fine. It's really not that far of a trip, and it'll give you confidence to take even farther trips. As long as you can make it to the campsite, you'll have enough folks/tools to address any issues that may have come on the trip over.

True! It doesnt leake..yet so maybe its solid. I plan on taking it to the jasper show sat so thats a good drive for me. Got my whole tool box in there and some parts just in case haha!

Wont be at Jasper show but may show up for camping trip if i can break free from all this work.

Yes, forecast isn't looking great, but maybe it will improve over the next couple of days. My dad has been doing ok the last week, so kelly and I should make it for some of the trip. We are actually planning to go up a day early since our 10 year anniversary is Thursday. Unfortunately, our site was already booked for Thursday, so we got site 3 for Thursday night and will move to 6 on Friday. Probably head home Saturday afternoon sometime to check in at my parents.

I think it will. Either way id be happy chilling around some vdubs in the rain all weekend lol. Just to get out and camp in my new van. I ordered a new distributor and putting that on and setting the timing this week is the last of my mechanical check ups ill be doing lol.

How's the temps at the campground? I know when I've stayed up at smokemont campground even I'm July/august it's comfortable. Never been to Indian creek.

It's usually pretty comfortable, a little bit cooler than in town. The woods and creek help. May be a bit humid and damp this weekend, lol.

I got a homemade cooler ac I'm taking just in case.

Bryce and I have these for our buses.  But I think I'm leaving mine at home, never needed more than a fan to be comfy at night at this place.  Plus it's heavy, and I don't need any more weight in the bus if I want to make it up some of those hills.   

Niceeee!!! As long as it's not buggy I'm planning on leaving all my doors open lol. I just hate being stuffy. This is our first trip in the bus. We can wait. It'll be an adventure for sure.
