New to the group, but not new to the family.

Greetings, I am new to the group and a bit outside of Gwinnett, but have family in the club so I will try to do stuff with you guys as much as I can. Michael (peregrine67) is my older brother, and with his mentoring and encouraging I finally bought myself a "73 Ghia.

Can't wait to see the Ghia in person

She seems to run just fine in the driveway. But when I take her out and she is under a load she sputters and dies. Luckily I have been able to get her restarted and back home, but only a mile or so out it starts. Let her run in the driveway for an hour and not a sputter. My brother gave me a clear fuel filter and I can see it processing fuel and it looks clean to me. I did not spend a lot of time with her as the number one woman in my life had priority today.

I am making a "to do" list and at the top of it is making it to the nearest parts store.

when it stops go check to see it the filter has any fuel in it. Your problem is somewhere between the tank and the carb. either a clogged fuel line or the fuel pump.

Ditto on the fuel in the filter after dying. I dont know a whole lot, as I am learning and re-learning, but can speak on experience here.
My a bug did the same for a while when I wasn't driving it for a few years. It ended up being a pinch in the fuel line under the gas tank. Idled fine, but when it needed gas flowing, it just wasn't there.

Another thing you could check is the fuel filter inside of the fuel tank. It could possibly be clogging up.

sounds like the issue I had when running a 30 pict 1 on a 1600 dp. Changed to 30 pict 3 and haven't had an issue since.

Went to get the tags and found out why the last guy did not have a title. He was not the last owner of record. Apparently he bought it from someone then resold it to me without getting it transferred to himself. I need to jump through hoops to get the title in my name now. I have options. I can get the bill of sale from the last owner of record to him and take that to the tag office, or I can have the police come inspect the car and have them sign an affidavit verifying she is not reported stolen and that the VIN numbers match the bill of sale.

My old '67 Beetle had been off the road so long, that it was out of the DMV system- I called the Police, they quickly sent an officer over to inspect the VIN , he signed a form that I got from the tag office- it was much easier than I thought it would be

Same here, I had to do that with the 71. Not a big deal tho.

The "hoops" you don't jump through, you simply step through. I bought my 67 beetle from a guy in Alabama, and it had never been registered in GA at all.
funny story;
One day neighbor had some "domestic issues " and cops showed up (i was in a townhouse at the time). I already had the paperwork, so when things calmed down and one of the officers was filling out paperwork, the other officer was standing outside by himself. I approached him about the verification, he said no problem.
My car had a front clip replaced a long time ago from an accident.
But when I told him where the chassis VIN was, he looked at me like I was an idiot. Mainly because he was around 6ft tall, but well over 250 lbs.

Point is, it's quite simple to get that done

Spent a few hours diagnosing the fuel issue with Jazmine and came to no conclusions. I checked the fuel line from the tank to the hard line and from the hardline to the hardline in the engine compartment and there were no obvious leaks or kinks. Fired her up and did a few quick starts in the driveway and she performed well. Perhaps giving her all that attention paid off. We shall see in the morning.

OH,, and I got a 5th rim for a spare and a 6th because it was sold in a set.

Just a spare rim? Or does it match the other 4?

all 6 match, but not sure if/how I can move the center part to the new rims.

In the hopes that the fuel issue is resolved, I am now looking for advice on the best way to rewire the girl. Yank all the wires and start over? Or trace one at a time?

worked on Jaz tonight. Timing and vacuum check out, but she still skips a bit. Checked and cleaned the points, rotor and contacts inside the distributor cap. Having some issues getting the timing figured out as the book says there should be more marks on my crankshaft pulley. My pulley only has one mark, should I time it to the crack in the case, and should I be timing off piston 1?
