68 bug "Bogart"

Picked this one up about two weeks ago. Wasn't listed for sale but a friend at work told all about it after his wife wouldn't let him purchase it. I jumped on it the next day. Has a 1500 that last ran in 2007 and a few wiring problems. The floor pan is now patched and welded thanks to my friend Glenn and his willingness to work for beer. Plan to get running soon as possible and drive it to work. Has no ignition canister or key.

Got the electrical sorted thanks to Bryce, floor pans patched thanks to Glenn, painted the pans with rust bullet, new used ignition switch thanks to Bob, fired right up. Front brakes and berrings repacked. VW friends are awesome. Hope to have it on the road before yubuggin.

How Do You Like Rust Bullet?

Used silver uv resisitant rust bullet on the front floor of my bus. 3 yrs and no rust. Used black non uv resistent on the 68 inside pan, lot of surface rust. Will be covered by carpet. Just used a grinder with wire brush to clean off and vacumed and painted. 39$ a quart.

Hush mat installed and carpet ordered. Used heater box's cleaned and painted.

New soft brake lines and 1 new brake cylinder. Ready for tag.
