Hope that the Jetta isn't an automatic.

What are you looking for for motor/tranny for the rabbit?

hahaha it is automagic. thats why i bought it, i like shooting myself in the foot. the transmission check out fine but it is haveing some wierd problem. cant figure it out right now cause i have to fix the brakes before i can drive it. if the transmission problem cant be solved then it will be getting a 5 speed manual. it shares the same brackets as the 1985-1992 vws so getting the parts is not a problem. the only difference in the linkage is one little white arm and a weighted shift rod(which i have both already).

not quite sure yet on the rabbit. i am going to sand it down and paint it first. right now i am making a plan on what motor i am going to use. whatever i chose it will run on megasquirt. i want a fast car so i think turbo or supercharged is the way i am going to go.

sweet. In my dreams I will be running digi-1 with turbo on one of my vw's sometime this year. More likely I will get my thing on the road and push the watercooled projects to the side.

Nice to know that I am not the only one here into A1s.

i love the a1s. the only model i have not owned is a jetta. one day i will get one though. so far my favourite is the 4 door rabbit. this one makes number 4 or 5 of owned 4 doors.

as far as the mk3 i wouldnt own one but wife needs something and the price was pretty good. if all fails aboot $100 and 5-6 hours time it will be on the road.
