Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
welded up the disc on the on the gear shift where it hits the reverse lock-out plate. It had gotten worn down after years of use and developed a flat spot. It's now a full circle again and hits the reverse lock-out plate where it should and I got my H pattern back for shifting without having to struggle to find first and second gear!
Also while I had the rubber floor mat out, I went ahead and finally installed the rubber seals that go under the front floor for the clutch and brake pedals and installed the foam seals that go on top of the floor. Trying to cut down on the cold air coming in.

And started body work on my 67. A Little bondo and got the drivers door sanded. . Hooked up the shift linkage.. and when i got tired of the dust i got on the valves on the baja and worked on my donor motor. Goin to try a motor swap this weekend probly. I have a slightly used stocker to replace in the baja while i build up the original with aftermarket goodies.

Monday: Scrounged a bunch of Westy parts from the Bugs4Christ guys, Including a 2.0 T2 long block.
Tuesday: Installed the only remaining cabinet I was missing and the florescent light in the rear.

Actually drove the SP2 for the first time in 2+ months.
I guess it was carbed a little rich because it was running way better this morning in the cool air then it did this summer.

Those wheels look good!
Thanks Bryce.
They were not easy to get set up. Strange UK sizing on lug holes and center bore.
Still want to lower the car a smidge to get it looking right.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Drove the Fat Chic to work today. Really weird not being in the Bus. Bugs are small man! I'm lucky, I have a nice stable of ACVWs.
Found my new dimmer relay and what do ya know right out of the fuken box, DOA. EuroMax parts are not the best. I happen to save one from the '71 Bus I had at one time and it worked! So now I have both low and high beams.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Lowered Camerons 74 Super in the front today. Turned the stock struts into coilovers. Took for a spin here just a little while ago and it rode like a new car! Fantastic setup and it uses 2.5" wide springs so he is set if he ever wanted to run wide rims. Pictures hopefully tomorrow as it got dark on us fast tonight.
Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
