Re: Jade 62 Beetle
Please give more details as they are available.
I am wanting to do this to the '65.
I have been spoiled by the '70 westy now and want to remove all my engines through the rear W/O jacking up the car....

Lots of work left to do to make it more functional.....maybe a little mighty puddy
Whatever you do, do NOT use mighty puddy. That is the cheap knock-off version of Mighty Putty. Through my extensive research I have found that 9 out of 10 times, creating a chain of mighty puddy links and then using that chain to pull a tractor trailer results in failure. Spend the extra cash and get the real deal, the one and only Mighty Putty!
Looks good though. I definitely plan on doing this modification on the next beetle I get.

Re: Jade 62 Beetle
lookin good Bryce. i am not sure what your plans are but remember we carry quarter turn fasteners(DZUS) at Summit, thats what all the racers use to hold hoods on. let me know if you need anything.

Re: Jade 62 Beetle
Well I got a sliding rag now! Billie put it in for me.....I am waiting on my canvas from convertable specialties. I hope it will be in tomorrow or Thursday. In the meantime I started cleaning up the rails.
On the left are the clean ones and on the right has yet to be cleaned.

Looks great! I have always wanted a rag. I wanted to have Billie put that in Herbie but I just didn't have the $$ at the time.

Re: Jade 62 Beetle
Got the canvas on with a lot of help from Eric. Still needs a bit of adjusting and I have to cut some new pockets for the bows as they are off but it is on.

Re: Jade 62 Beetle
Here is just a picture of Jade waiting to attack AMS
Picked up this rack today from Tanbug. Very happy with. Doesn't block the rear window at all and plenty of clearance for the ragtop.

Re: Jade 62 Beetle

Re: Jade 62 Beetle
Damn, the rack looks sweet! You going to spray or powdercoat it...or let it get a little "patina"? Nice.
