Tannehill Bug Blast August 25, 2012, Birmingham, AL

I'm definitely going, there's a group of us riding up from Chattanooga on Saturday morning.

Great camping and swap meet. Enjoyed hangin with Digger and James, fixed VW Girls westy on the side of I 20 and picked up a dual relief never line bored case. Hulawgn used and leaked almost a full quart of oil on the way there and hardly any on the way back. WTF? Motor coming out this week to fix some leaks and check bearings.

Man, wish I could have gone, I need a few things from the swaps. Ended up spending most of Saturday getting a little more interior work completed.

Yep, was a good time.

Parked the Thing next to Mr & Mrs Shaky, got to borrow some of their "dry spot" when the rains hit around 3:00! Lot's of neat VW's and good amount of swap stuff. Dang near had a nice distributor for ten bucks, but found out VW Girl needed it to get home. Hope all went well there.

3 hours up, 3 hours back just a bit sore on the backside and one bad rain squall around Sylacauga, but a fun trip.

Nice that Callaway Gardens next saturday is only 20 minutes from home!

Oh wait. Was it her points and a flat spot on the distributor? I remember her talking about that now. She told me her headlight went out and she would need to find a new bulb for her H4s. I found a sealed beam headlight from a vendor so I bought it for three dollars and we replaced it. Only it wouldn't come on either. Turned out to be a bad fuse. From the front the metal strip still appeared intact, but after pulling it, one of the ends was completetly melted and it looked like a little mushroom. Kind of disturbing a fuse would do that instead of just blowing like it is supposed to.

I enjoy this show a lot, great venue. I might just have to camp next year. Looks fun.

Good times ! Some of you Ga Folks are missing a Great show/camping close to home !!

It was neat to see so many Bay's there! Also 4 Things! Usually don't see that many Things at one show. Mine was the (other) yellow Thing in the pics. Had the hood up.

Will try and camp next year so we can see more of the park. Was a fun way to spend our 33rd anniversary!

I made roughly double of what I sold last year. The swap was a lot bigger this year.

Had a blast at the show, and the camping was so much fun. Made some money too. Does anyone know who was the crazy guy riding a bike around the track at 1:AM, whooping and hollering in nothing but his boxers
