I need some help with a 91 Jetta, I recently purchased. It needs some wiring issues straightened out, among other things.

Just smack the dash occasionally, should fix most of them! Laughing I do not think I have ever owned a vw without some kind of wiring problems. The 80's-90's were the worst. What are the problems with it?

Auto or manual? if its auto then neutral safety switch either way make sure your seat belt is connected(on). its got a switch in it and not clicked no start.

if it has the shoulder belt in the door, the car will not start unless the belt is hooked up! as stated also check neutral safety. most likely seat belt tho.....
