Alright guys, i'm trying to make a list of tools needed for a '68 bug, basically a first aid kit to keep behind the seat, its gunna be a xmas present for a buddy, just wanna make sure i have everything he needs for "just in case", so list what tools you carry with you in your car. so far i have:
anything vw specific i need to know...
8,10,13*,14,15,17,19(maybe for suspention stuff))mm wrenches
Feeler gauge needs to have .006mm And for some reason i cant remember what the points are set to..
needle nose pliers
vise grips
any spare parts would be nice too! like plugs or points ect.
Thanks Guys,
Michael
This will also handy for any newbie vdubbers!

Re: First Aid Kit
I got a truck box from Sears and raided the $2.99 bin at Advanced auto and for under 20 bucks I loaded it with wrenches, pliers, sockets, etc. Cheap tool but they are just for an emergency. Didn't see the need in loading up my Craftsman. I also have a cheap set of feeler gauges, mini Mag Light, micro jumper cables, gloves, 4 way, a lid off my wifes old compact (mirror) and waterless hand cleaner. As far as parts, I carry a belt, 3 buck set of points, 2 plugs, acc cable, clutch cable and fuses. Sounds like a lot but most of this fits in the box below and the rest fits nicely under the rear seat.
