Didn't somebody (Okrasa?) build a bolt on supercharger for those early engines? I've read you can turbo the dual port stock engines, and see a healthy gain!

I know jusdson made superchargers for the 36 hp motors. Still pretty easy to come by, but expensive as hell, usually around 2K. My 74 super has a turbo. its a stock 1600 dp, and im running 8lbs of boost. The difference in power is like night and day. It's pretty fast. I'll be at YUBuggin, if you want to check it out. Since that pic, i've mounted the boost guage inside (hahaha), and ripped out all the burnt nasty tarboard out of the engine compartment, and cleaned it up nice.

if anyone is close to South Carolina I-95 about the 93-95 mile marker on the N. bound side there is a small window bug out next to a blue building looks like its been there for a while but from what I saw looked pretty good ie* all the windows were there and didnt see alot of rust,

but then again I was doing 65 in the Semi truck when I passed it
