gas in Ga, can anyone tell me to tell folks coming for show

I have heard about the Gas Shortages in Atlanta Metro, but how is it in the middle and east? Since we have this show coming up in Reynolds, some of these guys in NC are calling and asking about it. Should they go through Atlanta (85/75) or should they think about backroads?

I just need to hear about this from the locals so I will know what to tell these folks.

I just talked to Ed at Silver Dollar Raceway and he said they are good on gas and it is at 3.69 there compared to 3.99 in Fort Valley!
So my question is everywhere else? so these folks will know how to come

You can find gas in Griffin but you will pay 4.07

For the ones that come down I20 through Augusta its 3.89

were about an hour a way and everything looks good

No shortage in Forsyth,Macon,Byron. Price running Krogers,Sams,$3.69 most other places$3..73 to $3.87. Jim

But there is a shortage in Warner Robins. You have to look pretty hard sometimes. I drove by 5 empty stations before I found one with gas. You can find one, but it may take a few extra miles.

The "gas shortage" is mostly an illusion created by local panic. There is always gas to be found. It just rotates from station to station. The only shortage that I've noticed is finding the higher grades of gas. As long as you can run 87 you're OK. Along the Interstates and the main blvds is where the gas is most hit and miss but there is always gas to be had somewhere. I think you're safe along the interstate but there will be a chance you have to wait in line for gas if you stop in the wrong area. I recommend you top off before you get near the metro area and use that gas to get to a more rural setting where it's usually easier to find the go juice you need. Back road might not be a bad idea but you'll want to start your seach for petrol earlier than you normally would (say 1/3 of a tank instead of 1/4).
