Nice touch on the Hot VW sticker.
The strange thing is the foot rest plate under the pedals...
It looks like the ones we got here on the passenger side, but has slots for the pedals to move through.
I thought it might be a hack, but the dude in Knoxville that trades VW's all the time has a fast back LHD that has them around the pedals as well...
Weird.

Re: 1971 RHD Japaneese 1302 Super
Got the tires balanced today at lunch, that has really helped.
I have too much pressure in the tires 32 all around, I am going to lower it to 19 in the front and 24 in the back and see if this helps further.
The tire that was on the LF has a flat spot that I believe was exaserbating the front end.
I'll take the back way home and rutn it through the curves at 40-50 to see if it is indeed cured.

Re: 1971 RHD Japaneese 1302 Super
Lowering the tire pressure DID NOT help the vibration.
It made it MUCH worse.
Got a nice floor jack last night and will be doing some tire rotations / car changes tonight and will drive the JapBug tommorow to see if there is any improvement with newer tires.
I got some time to push and pull on the tie rod ends last night and they seem fairly tight. The Drivers side (or passengers...) is looser but not wigley. My front wheel bearings are slightly loose and my steering box is leaking some oil just above the dampener arm.
I plan on re packing the bearings as well.

Re: 1971 RHD Japaneese 1302 Super
Any one care to help translate?
I have someone comming to look at the Vert tomorrow, if he buys it then I am going to rebuild the RHD and lower using topline and possibly use the disk brake kit from them as well.
Any help on the supposed dealer packet is appreciated.
Also if anyone has a '71 1302 owner's maual in Japanese, just send it my way...
LOL

Re: 1971 RHD Japaneese 1302 Super
give me a few minutes for the exact translation. It's been a while.
First line: automobile title
second: the name of the dealership, I think it's pronounced Nakafuri
third: Ahahi Auto Plaza
forth: the address. I can't read the city name but its in the Nagata area on 2 Jo 2 Chome
fifth: main telephone number
sixth: direct line to the Nakata store
seventh: Thank you very much

New Side Shot...
Initial interferance with 8 spokes and 185 65 15's
Tbacks with 195 50 15's
Shows off set of Tbacks.
There is 1/4 inch to the springs with the 195's, and the Tbacks clear the lower control arm nuts by 1/32" - NO JOKE.
I plan to loose the 195 50's and go with a 145 or 155 to get the tire away from the springs. The 195's just barely touch the fenders when turning hard, but the t backs are 4.5" wide and it is like trying to ride on ballons with all the bulge over the wheels.
The T-backs clear the disk brakes by 1/4 inch or so, so they are a really good wheel for the 4+ inches of drop and the disk brake set up. I also installed a new 7/8" lowered sway bar and a new urethane set of bushings.
Need to get the narrow tires and the front end aligned, any guidance on the front end settings?
More later,
KC

I still want to lower the back, I believe 1 outer click on the back.
This should make the back go down about 2".
This should put the back tires right at the top edge of the rear.

Saw your beetle a few weeks ago at the N. Bypass and Dalt / Cleveland.
It looks good.
You should put your droped spindles on the adjustable beam I have and drag the adjusters off... LOL.
