I can't be much help in the prep but you can count me in to attend and help spread the word up here in Gwinnett.

yes the Kiwanis werent very helpful last year...that is why i asked to speak to someone over the guy from last year. we want to give them the opportunity to continue to work with us as we have already established the show there. but if they wont play ball...we'll find a new court! and thanks Eric..we need all the help we can get!

WE ARE CONSIDERING THOSE THAT WANT TO CAMP AS WELL....UNFORTUNATELY IT IS HARD TO FIND SOMEWHERE THAT MEETS ALL THE CRITERIA. THANKS FOR THE OFFER ON THE FLYERS, WE WILL NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET ON THOSE AS WELL. AS SOON AS WE CAN GET A CONFIRMATION ON A LOCATION WE NEED TO GET SOME FLYERS READY FOR REYNOLDS.

I work for Clayton Co. Water Authority and we have two different Community use areas at our reservoirs. One is off Freeman Rd.(Shamrock) near McDonough Rd. and the other is in the south part of the county, North Bridge Rd. and Panhandle Rd.(JW Smith). Yeah they are in Clayton Co. Each one is very large and they both have picnic tables and pavilions.


I'll have to find out if an event like this will be allowed, most of the traffic is fishing, few weddings and what not. No camping for sure!

Looked at the CCWA calender and it looks like the Shamrock CUB is booked. If we can use one of these I would choose JW Smith, it's flatter and has a big grass area in the middle, more pavilions and tables. Like I said they are in Clayton Co. and not down in Griffin/Spalding Co. JW Smith is not far from AMS.

THEY ARE GLAD TO ACOMADATE US AND HOPE TO MAKE THIS AN ANNUAL EVENT WITH US. WE NEED TO WORK ON A DESIGN FOR THE FLYERS...SO ANY VOLUNTEER WORK IS APPRECIATED. I WANT TO HAVE SOMETHING TO PASS OUT AT REYNOLDS.

Will they let us in to prep the grounds early...like Thursday? I don't want a repeat of last year where people were mowing the grass twenty minutes before cars started showing.

Ditto. I really really like the location of this place. I thought the set-up for the 2008 show was awesome with all the cars on the lower area. I think there were 4 rows that could have easily held 25 cars each.



The 2009 show was great as well, but it just turned into a nightmare trying to get some of the later arrivals parked and cramming everyone into the upper area.

Did they mention if the lower area would be available this year? Thanks again David and Mike for looking into this place. Looking forward to the show already!

the grounds will be prepped this year ahead of time. this was a concern that mike and i had and discussed in detail with the fairgrounds. the entire fairgrounds area will be open to us. we will be out a few days in advance to mark lines for parking and vendors.

Again like david said we will be going out on thursday to make sure everything is ready,,we have talked about going back to the rows like in 2008,,if there is anything you can think of that you did or did not like please let us know thanks mike

Good job guys. I just picked that weekend off so I'm available from Thursday to Sunday. I never show my car so I'll be available for any duties that come up.

I'm going to see if I can arrange for a T-shirt guy to be there. He has a killer setup where he can put the YU logo on the font and custom pic (you're car at the show) on the back while you wait.

The only thing I have to add right now is that I would like to see the prices stay the same.

$5 to show
$5 to vend

same goes for me just let me know if there is anything i can do i only live about a half a mile from the fairgrounds.....and on another note i already have a vendor...my tattoo artist he is going to start on some artwork for the show

Thanks guys,david and myself are trying to get alot of stuff on the backside done,we do appreciate all the help,we are hoping to have a big anouncement next week, but we want it finalized before we say for sure,again thanks for all the help, we are going to need it, to make a great show even better.

alright time for an update: Mike and myself had a meeting on Tuesday with Brent at Atlanta Motor Speedway. this meeting was very productive; on August 13(friday) they will be hosting us at their Friday night show. they have named this night V.W. Invasion in our honor, they will set aside a section for V.W's and will offer a special trophy for us as well. all are welcome to attend and enter the show and shine and the drag racing if you like. if enough enter the drag racing you will be paired off with other dubs. after the show and shine event all who entered will be allowed to drive on the track in a "victory" lap. we are very excited to work with A.M.S and want to have a strong showing...so let's make this a TRUE V.W. Invasion and turn out in force!!!

I will be available for whatever volunteer work fri-sun. Friday at the track sounds awesome.
