Cruise for May **EDITED**
Ok it is time to get out and have a cruise to eat some good food! It feels like it has been forever since we got out for a cruise and I am ready to go . This month we are going to try a new place that I think everyone will enjoy. On Sat. the 29th we are going to cruise to Athens to eat at a place called Gnat's Landing. It looks like really good food and a fun place to hang out. I have already talked to one of the owners and they are excited about having us. They have a big room that will be reserved just for us. Check out the place here http://www.gnatslanding.net/about-us
We will meet at Starbucks between 11:30 and 12:00 and pull out at 12. We will probably just take Hwy 78 in to Athens to get there. I hope to see you all there and I will send out a reminder as the time gets closer.

Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Gnats Landing is a good place for food and drink. Parking can be tight, especially if there are many other folks already there. We (the Athens club) would love to join you, but have a day trip to Fort Yargo State park planned for that day.
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Sorry
But Deb and I will not be able to make the ride, we will be at our son Danny's graduation on the 22nd. I will say that is a big day that we can't miss.
See ya soon.

For those of you that are not able to go with the crew, remember about the car show that has been planned on the same day in west Cobb County at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

Man I forgot all about that. It really is hard to plan stuff this time of year that doesn't clash with something else

Hey Gary, are ya'll still headin this way (Athens) on Saturday? I thought some of us could meet up with you on your way into town.

Yep. I am not exactly sure what route we are going to take yet though. We would love to have ya'll join up with us.
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
I posted a thread on our site about your cruise. http://www.athensvwclub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1021 Once you determine your route, we will pick a spot to join up with you.
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
I think we ar just going to take 78 all the way in. It is an easy straight shot that way. A lot of our guys are out of town so I'm not sure what kind of turn out we'll have but we will have fun either way
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Here is a route I came up with in Google maps if you want to add some ride time. This cuts through the country side for a little better view. Basically, Hwy 20 to 81 to Double Springs to 11, a short trip on 78, pick up 83 in Monroe to Snows Mill to 53, cut through Watkinsville and pick up Athens from the South side. Just a thought. I'm more about the scenery vs time.

Has the final route been desided?

Scott are you coming tomorrow? If you are maybe you could lead us. I would much rather take a more scenic route.
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Just found out that my nephew graduates at 12:00 Saturday so we are going to miss this one. Really bummed out about it cause we will also be in Florida for the Helen cruise, seems like we end up in Florida every year for this one, maybe I can talk the wife in to coming home early for it like we did the last 2 years, but I'm afraid I'd be pushing my luck for 3 years in a row.

Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
OK, so Scott are you coming up 53? If so we'll meet you at Publix parking lot. What time?
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Yes, 53. Hey Jon, That's about a 45-60 minute ride from Starbucks so we'll be pulling in to the Publix around 12:45 - 1:00. I'll give you a yell shortly.
Re: Cruise for May **EDITED**
Thanks for making the trip, and sorry about the downpour on the way home .
For the 68 dome light:
Here's how my 69 is wired: it has 3 wires (you might have another wire hiding in there?).
red wire goes to the single terminal end of the fixture.
tan wire goes to the top double terminal (ground through the door switch?).
tan with a stripe wire goes on the bottom double terminal (ground to the body?).
Hope this helps
