Getting into trucks. 1968 F100
The bus is in limbo right now due to the fact the PO never registered the bus so the bill of sale I got from him is no good. I picked up this '68 off craigslist last month and am having fun. I have to replace the radiator and motor mounts. They are weak. The rest of the truck is awesome. I got a heap of parts in a trade for some old tires. It was converted from a 360 and three on the tree to a 300 inline six and a four speed in the floor with the granny gear. It is a custom cab with no real options. I has the flasher switch in the glove box and has power drum brakes. That is about it. I got it to kick around in and have a truck when you need it and use it to go to cruise ins and such. The Excursion is nice to move people but you always could use a truck. My plans are a full underhood detail, new windshield and rear window seal. I want to paint the wheels white but I'm struggling with that decision. Been thinking of a small drop and some sort of shop type logo on the doors. Other than that it needs front disc brakes and going back and forth on changing it to a automatic. If my son ends up with it I will change it over to a C4 or C6. I really wanted a 73-77 Highboy but those are not easy to find in good condition.

Not really a ford guy but that truck looks really nice and should be a fun driver.
Re: Getting into trucks. 1968 F100
If I had to have another Ford, that would be the truck I would look for.
I have had a '65 Mustang, and a '54 Ford deluxe truck, but I would like to get one about just like yours one day.
What is up with the bus?
I NEVER have any issues with cars that I register here in GA. Go back to the tag office on another day and see a different lady and see if you get the same runaround. The VIN's on these VW's are not searchable in the Database any way because of the old style...
Just my $0.02.

I was told the bill of sale must come from the last registered owner. I don't know where to go from there if I can't register it. I guess it would end up parts.

Shoot me a $'s for the bus, that sucks if you cannot register it.

You need to ask to speak to somebody else at the counter!!! If it hasn't been registered in a long long time and has fallen out of the system (or was never in the GA system), you'll likely have to call the sheriff's dept and get an officer out to fill out the VIN verification form. The DMV can then use that to make sure the car is clear, and after that you should be good to go.
Back to the truck, any idea what color that is??? It's awesome.

We will give it another go at the tag office. I'll have the vin verification done first.
The color of the truck is the original ford boxwood green.

Dude, I love the truck. It looks like you got the right ideas to make it even cooler. I've been wanting one like this for a while. I recently aquired a rough but complete 91 F150 extended cab 4x4. I have to fix a few things on it such as repair a bad coolant leak, among a few other things. Hope to have it on the road before long. I really dig your truck though. Especially the color.

I hear the 300 inline 6 is tough and that is nice. As far as gas, we will see. It is a 1 bbl lol. I'm waiting on a piece of aluminum so I can make a radiator bracket then I need to find someone to help install new motor mounts that will be here this week and get the new tires put on and I should be back to cruising it just in time for cruise season to end.
