Lessons learned Empty Lessons learned

Post by bakertim2 Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:48 pm

Lessons learned the hard way. Skateboards take a lot of respect. My daughter tried out long boarding. Didn't work out to well for her. She and the road became aquainted this afternoon. She and I got to ride in a helicopter for the first time together as she was life flighted to Scottish Rite hospital. She has a fractured shoulder, hematoma on her eyebrow, and 3/4" laceration under her chin. Hopefully we can go home soon.

Thinking about your family. Great folks at CHOA Scottish Rite, spent many a night there. They are the best around and she is in good hands. Praying for her speedy recovery. BK

Sounds like she puts 100% when she tries something! I hope she and your family are back to normal shortly. You will be amazed how physical therapy helps recovery. It did for me. Prayers and thoughts your way bud.

Well, the drs found a fracture in her jaw above the cut on her chin. They are going in tomorrow and put a titanium ate over the fracture to stabilize it so it can heal properly. At least tonight we'll be down here again.

poor thing. I know the pain a dad feels when his child is hurting. While it sounds bad, it also sounds as though it could have been much worse. The young ones tend to heal quicker and better and I'm sure she'll recover sooner than expected.

Not yet. She had surgery yesterday. They went in and put a titanium plate over her fracture in her jaw, removed one molar that was vertically broken in 3 pieces, and repaired 2 more teeth that broken. Hoping to go home in a little while. We are waiting on the dentist to come in and check on her.
