my 67. .Mossy Oak
Heres my 67 project. Figured i would git a thread started in the right place. . My 2nd VW and its going to have to be redone through and through. Planning on doing the floorpans, paint, engine, and all myself. Usually i am the one to take and Redneck things up but this one im saving. Was in a guys field for about 15yrs with his attentions of chopping and making a sheetmetal baja. Apparantly the P.O. from him were good ole GA boys and had it aresol overhaul camo. Just enough to save the original paint. No surface rust outside. .last plate on it 1987. Been there so long it grew moss on the car itself. So im dubbing it project real tree.
Heres some moss on it

Awesome. As far as redoing it goes, what are your plans for it? Are going to go completely stock or a bug with a few custom touches?

Drop spindles. In or 2 in the rear. . 1600 DP mayb a few performance adds. Gnna try them out on the baja as a guinea pig. No bumpers i think.
Gnna try the two tone. Black on tan or cream. I wanna leave stock paint on the dash and doors to give it a rustic look. I think thatll clean up ok so a tan outside to match or compliment it. Black and tan inside. .
Gnna take a minute. And its gnna be a budget build. Aiming to get "nice and dependable" not show or race

Sounds like a good plan. That's about what I'm trying to get outta my bug.
Seems like you and I have about the same plan for our cars. Except mine is a sedan and yours is a baja.

Naw. I got 2. The baja is just a dirt road play toy. Slow speed short trips. Ill probly never do anything over the top with the inside or outside.
This 67 is going to be the nice one. Maybe itll be as clean as yours when its all over. I got 3 boats and a few more vehicles so im not devoting the cash into it i could.

Re: my 67. .Mossy Oak
Due to the rising cost of my fix and repair dailys, and a 1641 build for the baja. . Not too much, but im making a little progress. Figurd id put an update on here.
Bed lined front and rear fenderwells
And knocked some more of the camo and moss off. Nice pretty tan paint up under there. The sandings free so im piddling with that until the piggy bank fills up enough for sheetmetal. Front nose apron and tire well. Gnna need a pass door. And i guess ill fix the flintstone brakes.
