'62 Pan Allison Dune buggy
Just some photos of my buggy from the Previous Owner:
As found in 2006 and the build and tear down of the old rotten pan.
Now has a '62 pan with a '68 swing axle and a 1600 SP (Torquey monster).
Build through the day after I drove it home.
Only difference is the new tires on it now, 13's in the front 14's in the back (same slotted mags as in photos).
Any way to decode a VIN for this body?
It has the Allison Fiberglass VIN Plate on it as well.
Thanks,
KC
As Found In 2006:
Rotten Frame head:
New '62 Tunnel and Shortened Pans:
Coming together:

Going to need a top and sides, any ideas?
Also need a back seat for at least 2 of the girls.

These are the Original wheels that came with the Car.
Apparently if the car was built at the factory vs. a kit car was whether or not it got a VIN plate.

Re: '62 Pan Allison Dune buggy
I had a guy that cleaned with me about 6 years ago that built Allisons for a while in Daytona. He said they had two molds when he was there and they would do a buggy body a day. He said he mainly layed the glass but did get to paint a few too. Wish I could get a hold of him now.... Long story short very cool car. Always liked them because they were different and easy to tell apart from others.

Re: '62 Pan Allison Dune buggy
Did you send the buggy off to have it painted or did you do it yourself? Where did you have the white pinstriping done? I'm trying to decide what road to take with my buggy. My gelcoat has a lot of small cracks in it. I put some boat wax on it and that made it shine really nice.
Thanks,
Mike
