H30/31 carb issue
My carb seems to flood when I park it facing up hill, the float and needle valve seem to work ok. I pulled the top of the carb off. The fuel was about 1/2 inch down from the top. The fuel pressure is around 3 psi, the gage fluttered but steadied out a 3 psi at at a high rpm. The fuel cut off solenoid clicks but maybe its not working properly. This has developed over time, it was working good at one point. any suggestions would be welcome. Am I correct in assuming that these are the issues that would cause this?

Not sure what it could be other than the float or needle. Maybe the gasket on the bowl has worn???

I had it off once before to change the little horseshoe piece to the correct orientation, I put a new gasket on yesterday, I got to thinking about it being worn. I moved the car this morning, still seemed to flood. I have to take it for a ride.

Could be the float needs a minor adjustment.

Adjustment Hell, I threw it out and put in one from on old 34 pict 3, It seems to work great. It was about two years old. It was a black foam float. I read a post on the samba where they said that they absorb fuel and become weighted down. Another post said that he changed it out and it worked for him, so I tried it, and it worked

Sweet! Put a new float on the shopping list for the next show. Just in case.

Yeah, If you buy an h30/31 I'd open it up to see if it had a black foam float. I'd buy a plastic float to replace it. Don't even run it.
