Super Beetle Hood
Anyone know if all years of super beetle parts will interchange? I need a hood for my 71' model and just want to make sure that a 74' super beetle hood that I've found will fit.

Yup. Welcome to the early Super world, where it seems like every part is a one-year or two-year only item.

Re: Super Beetle Hood
Hey Guys. I have the opposite problem. I have a '74 super and can't find a hood for it. I have found a parts car that I can get the hood off of but it turns out to be a '73 standard. I have seen where some folks have put the smaller hood on a super. How much trouble would it be and would it work if I changed out the fenders also.

You're looking at a ton of fabrication. You'd have to split and widen the entire hood, reshape the portions that mate to the cowl and apron, recontour the hood to match the more rounded profile of the SB, etc. It could be done, if you had the skills...but in the end you'd still be better off buying an aftermarket SB hood from Midamerica for $400 and reworking it to fit properly.

Re: Super Beetle Hood
Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I don't have the skills that is for sure. I can't afford the $400 so I guess I will keep looking for a hood that will fit.
