master cylinder problems
i just replaced my master cylinder with one i bought at BAP. i bench bled it and i get brake fluid coming from the front right hole but the left front and rear ports just push out air. i have a dual circut MC. my resivior is full and i cant figure out why fluid isnt getting all the way through the MC to the back of it (the side closest to the pedal). i havent messed with the push rod, and i dont think ive did anything incorrectly. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Kodie

Re: master cylinder problems
Did the old master cylinder work at all?
There could be other issues if it didn't.
May be your sucking in air from somewhere
There should be about 5 mm of play in the pedal before it engages the MC
you can look here for alot of information

Re: master cylinder problems
thanks fopr the input pat and bugman. the old master cylinder worked, it was just stiff. i bought this new one from clyde at BAP. i think i just got a bad one. it looked brand new and i got fluid from the resivoir down the hoses to the MC but it wouldnt go through it. so i went and bought another new one and installed it last night. it workes fine. If anyone is interested in having one to rebuild i have one now. looks brand new it just has some kind of blockage in it. thanks for the help guys

Re: master cylinder problems
Save the box and bring it to the AMS show for a refund. My supplier wants to see it. I'm very sorry about your wasted time

Re: master cylinder problems
I meant wasted time installing crap that doesn't fix the problem.
A VW show is always a sound investment of one's time.
