70 bus : Name unknown
I picked this up monday. Its a 70 bay 1600 and its really solid. So i think im going to hold on to this one.
The only real bad spot on the bus is the pass. rear lower. No rust just one blown tire or tree stump, a bad repair and another tire/tree stump in the same spot.
I drilled and turned the beam and dropped the back one click.

Re: 70 bus : Name unknown
Thanks. It has very little rust. Just a few quarter size holes in the floors. Other than that its solid. It popped up on craigslist monday morning and i had it back at the shop by 10:00am. I sold my bug sunday night, so that was good timing.

Please would you explain in detail this process. I need to do a quick lower on "Moto".
Oh yeah welcome to the "Bay" side!
Re: 70 bus : Name unknown
There are two dimples and a bolt in the center of each beam tube. You have to drill out each dimple and remove the bolts to free up the center spring retainer. The upper rear dimple is a pain to get too so you can use a ziz wheel or deburring bit to open it up. The lower front dimple you'll have to get creative with. Its behind the center steering mount. I drilled a hole in the mount so i could get in there and half ass drill out the dimple. Make sure its on stands when your drilling. Once its drilled set it down and you may have to bounce on it to get it to release. set it where you want it, weld it up and ride.

What exactly is your definition of "Hold on to this one?" Is that more than one month?

Thanks. My buddy is cutting the paint mask today. I'm gonna paint the shop logos on the sides and do some pinstriping on it. I also ordered the repair panels and trim clips today.
