Re: Dying after warm up
Don't let it warm up. Tell it to stay cool. Lol Check fuel line for vapor lock
Re: Dying after warm up
Sounds like the mixture is way off. Seems the choke is the only thing keeping it alive when cold.

Re: Dying after warm up
Stripped pipe clamps on DP seals, or cracked DP seals.
My '72 did it all the time untill I put real Radiator hose clamps on it.
Thanks,
KC

Re: Dying after warm up
Ok I'll look for that. How often do you all have to change the manifold boots?

Re: Dying after warm up
You shouldnt have to change them often at all. Biggest problem is getting them sealed right the first time. Did this start happening all of a sudden?

Re: Dying after warm up
Well this happens or seams like maybe every two or three months. I'm gonna play with my mixtures and see what that does

Re: Dying after warm up
When you say warm up do you mean when the choke cuts off? If so make sure the Air Solenoid has not burned out. The round thing on the side of the carb with a wire going to it. Turn the key on and go to the carb and unplug that wire and touch it back to the same terminal. If the solenoid clicks it is good, if not it is open and needs to be replaced.
Re: Dying after warm up
No once the choke fully opens then it starts dying

Re: Dying after warm up
Did you check that cut off valve Bob was talking about? Turn the key to On, unplug the wire coming from the left side of the carb. Touch the wire back to the terminal. You should hear it click 10 out of 10 times.

Well if it doesnt it will never idle.....cut the plunger off if the wire turns out being good
Re: Dying after warm up
if you are in the area, you can stop over at my house, and we'll try your plunger on my car just to see if thats the issue, and not something else. if my car stops idle'ing atleast we'll kno if thats the issue or not. i'll send u a PM
