Re: Randy's 59 Scab
Ok Guys..... So I bought Latch from Bryce the other day. I'm going to let my 4 year old daughter rename it so lets hope for the best. Bryce and I are going to flip the spindles and do some other stuff to it before I take it home. Will let Bryce chime in on the other stuff. Then I'm going to start on fixing the jersey look back to original. Got most of the metal ordered from auto craft, parts from wolf berg west already at Bryce's...and got new gates from klassicfab, off set plates from womack. Also worked out a trade to get the safaris from Bryce. Looking forward to getting it going will post more as we get it finished

Re: Randy's 59 Scab
Me and Randy started working on getting the scab into a lowered roller yesterday. We tore an old tranny down to get the axle tubes, backing plates, axles, snap rings, side gears, thrust washers, fulcrums, daisies, and bearing spacers. Randy got the tubes, plates, rear mount, and front beam painted. We also opted for solid axle boots since we had the tubes off....oh what fun that was until we figured it out.....microwave and silicone are your friend. Hopefully this week everything will be installed. 4.12 tranny with short axles, womack offset plates, 4" beam with flipped spindles and all the brakes. Then it will be on to going through the engine and installing the safaris. Plan is to drive the scab before reynolds so he can ride with us down there. Pics to come later this week.
Re: Randy's 59 Scab
That'd be awesome if you guys get it rolling before Reynolds. Give me a few days notice of the next work day, and I'll try to come over and pitch in a hand.

Re: Randy's 59 Scab
Some rear brake stuff cleaned up today in preparation for a full work day tomorrow! Also blasted the front backing plates. Hope to at least get the tranny and rear brakes installed tomorrow hopefully more. Would like to get the narrowed beam in and spindles flipped too but we will see.
Only picture I managed to take today....

I am looking forward to it! Your replacement panels look super solid. Most of them are autocraft?

Looking and sounding good. Very excited to see this thing on the road around town. Jersey look removal was one of my favorite moves on mine.

Re: Randy's 59 Scab
Rear end done! Had to grind the nose cone to fit the adapter mount. Also had to fix two lug holes in the drums which were cross threaded. All brakes and rear lines on and a nice reverse rake. At least it is a roller now. Also got the front backing plates painted and spindles apart and cleaned. Plan for tomorrow is to get the beam in, spindles flipped and on, the brakes bled and maybe start on the engine. Randy has more pics that he will post probably later.

Great forward progress! Are you going to replace the full corner or just the vents?
