mastive puppy

my wifes dog died yesterday an she has been talking about geting a mastive for a while i dont want another big dog but if your going to go big you might as well go big would prefer a puppy that is midgited an wont slober every were

Used to raise them when I was a kid.
Are youinterested in an English or French Mastif?
The French ones are like Turner and Hooch, (rent it and you can remember how large hooch was...)
The English Mastifs are taller and longer. The male we kept at the house was 6'5" tall when he stood up. I'm 6'4" and he was taler than I was when he would put his paws on my shoulders. He weighed up to 215 lbs.
When we were raising them at the kennel, 6 of them would go through a 50 lbs bag of dog food every other day... No joke.
Just as lovable as any thing to us in the family, scared most other people.
Know what your getting into.
