Dropped Spindles Empty Dropped Spindles

Post by BKiller Fri Jan 14, 2011 8:17 pm

So I understand what dropped spindles do from my mini-truckin days. Is there any reason not to run them on a VW? Seems like they are out there but not that popular?
Don't they allow more suspension travel then adjusting the beam?

Yeah they do...much softer ride at the same or lower height....could be a good thing or a bad thing

On a side note have you seen the type 3 dropped spindles for like $7-800.....wow

I like the use of spindles. It gets you that much closer to the ground. But, on lp front end it is pricey to get them set up. For example, you can purchase the spindles for around 100 bucks then kp and lp cost another 80 bucks then having them pressed is another 100 bucks.

I run the 2.5" CB performance spindles on my 66 and I would not have it any other way. Ride did not change at all. I think I paid $125ish for them. then had to change the inner seals and tie rod ends. Think it was about $200-$225 after it was all said and done. check out b4 and after pics in my pics page "My 66 beetle" if you want.
