Trailing arms do not fit....
I finally got most of the components to put the front end back on the Bay Window but the trailing arms do not fit inside the beam with the wagenswest beam bushings. I am not to familiar with VW engineering and I am learning as I go. The top of the trailing arm looks too big, in fact I think that it might be a bearing that it is just rusted in place, but all 4 arms look the same. If it is a bearing, how do I take it off. I have not found any pictures that would help me identify the arms. The beam was supposed to be a 66 Bus beam. Any help would be appreciated.

It is a sleeve you can press them off or carefully cut them off. Which bushing did you buy first?

The guy I got the narrowed beam gets all his bushings from Nate at wagesnwest. The beams are made of new tubing and have no bearings inside. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=825893 This is his ad in samba. It is just a hollow tube. So I talked to Nate and he sold me the same ones, they are red and about a foot long.
Well Bryce, tomorrow I'll take on the task of cutting those sleeves off. I will have to be real careful not to mess this up.
Thanks, you always come to the rescue.

Might I suggest cutting most of the way through, then hit from the end with a cold cheisel.
