Who Remembers this one?
I used to have this poster years ago-

I never knew till now that this car had relatives!

here's the story- from the builder himself:
I am in Florida and good VW floor pans with-out rust were hard to find so we built the first few cars with tubular steel chassis and then went on to 2″x3″ steel box tube frames including the front and rear suspension from the VW’s that we bought. I spent alot of time with the government getting an auto manufactures licence.
This required that we supplied the new chassis and anything that could be replaced with new components were to be used in the construction of the car.
They allowed us to use remanufactured engines and transaxles. I was able to create new titles for these vehicles which were titled as new Pop Top Can Cars, 1982, 1983 etc. The buyers received a manufactures certificate of origin in order to get a new title for the vehicle. There is a gold plate in the center of every dash panel with the car production number. We were only allowed to make 300 vehicles per year which kept us from having to meet major auto manufacturers safety requirements. All of the fiberglass parts, the assembling, the upholstery and the hand painting were done by us. In two years time, we developed quite an operation, in fact we built a small factory to do this.

For real??? Bring it to Reynolds!!!!
Re: Who Remembers this one?
Do not think I will make it to reynolds, but if anyone needs any Garage art I have about 2000 old school posters from the 70's-80's. When I find the one you posted its yours. I went thru everyone when I got them (stock from a closed down hobby shop) and only found 2 vw ones, a scirocco poster and one artsy one thats a pic into the rear of a bus. Biggest thing is going thru them to find whats there! have everything from the classic lambo posters to Bigfoot (truck) to rowdy roddey piper door size!! Maybe with the rain would be a good time to catalog them all. Even got the poster racks and shelves in the deal!
Heres some buried in the junk room..
