Wow, looks totally different then when I saw it in lagrange. Smoothed out and cleaned up really well!

Re: Callahan's '65
looks bad ass man- you should do a few more designs get some molds made and start selling those things.
how did you end up attaching it to the molding?

Re: Callahan's '65
i just drilled through the molding and the hood
then bolted it to the studs i tapped into the bottom of the bronze
i haven't decided if i'm going to make any more or not yet, it is a very time consuming process and even with a simpler design it would still take me longer than i want it to, and to make any money off of them i would have to sell them for more than i want to, i'm sure i will do some more at some point but it will probably be a while lol
so if you want one start saving your pennies lol

your car makes a lovely snow plow and your heater channel is a nice slushy maker.

Re: Callahan's '65
I'm doing the same thing, but I'm building an MDF enclosure inside of the suitcase and using a 10" sub
I'd like to give yours a listen next time I see Jolene at a show

Re: Callahan's '65
i don't have any speakers up front yet and idk if i will put any up there right now i've got the sub and two 6x9s the two speakers were plenty loud by themselves just couldn't hit lows like a sub can. i think with the size of the car this is a pretty good set up, one shouldn't overpower the other and should be able to hear everything, plus it all fits behind the back seat
and as far as building an enclosure inside the suitcase i don't think its really necessary, all i did is put glue some foam on the inside to deaden it a bit and bolted the sub in with the sub bolted to the front its plenty strong enough i might make some braces for the backside if i did it again and the only problem ive noticed so far is air coming in and out of the seam where the suitcase opens up, so once i have everything as i like it i think i'll just open it up and put some silicone on the seam then should be no problem
oh and the handle rattles lol gotta figure out something for that

Re: Callahan's '65
and the amp is not inside the suitcase btw there is not quite enough room and i thought it might get a little too warm in there so i just mounted it to the back of the seat with my other one
Re: Callahan's '65
I'm going to put some separates in the kick panels up front, and just do without the rear separates and keep the suitcase sub for a "front stage" type of effect. When I first built the car, I had all of the sound coming from the back and I heard someone else's car with kick panels and it sounded phenominal. I'm going to run a 4 channel amp with the kick panels getting the front channels, and bridge the rear channels together to run the sub. I like the idea of running a vintage suitcase sub, it looks better in a vintage Bug imho. Good luck with your set-up, adding the sub with the 6x9's probably sounds real sweet.

Re: Callahan's '65
[quote="callahan"] anyone have any suggestions for removing window tint film?
When I removed all the tint from my bus.........( 13 windows, two layers of tint, dammit!!
), I sprayed the film down with windex and let it sit to soften the adhesive and peeled the tint, then scraped the glue with a single edge razorblade. Keep the glass wet with the windex and the glue will come off cleanly when you scrape it with the blade.
