Re: Pat the 64
There comes a time when you just have to move on to other things....

Yeah Pat is Geeks Big Brother. O'Bugga has a new home too. Can't wait to get started on this guy, he is going to be a really cool car, looks like the fenders have never been off.
Look at this paint under the hood!

I'm hoping that there is more paint under all this.....

Few areas of concern but not much that a cut off wheel and a welder won't fix!
Hoping to have him on the road in the spring. Thanks Bryce/Ashely O'Bugga will serve you guys well, I love'em just the same but life moves on.

Re: Pat the 64
My plan is to address the rust in the channel/s and other weather stops. Weather stops? - areas that if I were out and it were to rain the interior will be dry. There are really neat rust through spots on the fenders and rear apron. I'm not touching these spots. As for the surface rust, remove the loose stuff, remove the old paint covering the Ruby Red and wax it for a dull shine. Look on the samba for OG paint vehicles, they are awesome. I'd never strip this car and respray, NEVER! I plan on treating this like any other restoration project except with no paint. I'll redo the interior and finish it off with a stock 1600SP engine. I say restoration but really this will be a preservation project.
Re: Pat the 64
Well I haven't updated this thread in a while but I bought this car back from Bob a while back and put it in the garage and started gathering parts. I have purchased new pans, another complete pan, all new brake stuff, cables, wheels, tires, rack, engine......Now I just need to get busy. I am going to class 11 it. I picked up some 7.00 15 tires and steel sprint stars for it a while back and got them mocked up today for some hopeful motivation. Also moved my rack and visor off Jade when I traded it and put them on Pat along with the sears rack I bought from Kale a while back. I am going with rgb tranny setup for lift so I can get the clearance I need and not have the positive camber from lifting a stock swing axle. I ordered the adapters for this today so I hope they get here before Thanksgiving. For the front I am just going to install some adjusters to lift it. The plan is starting to come together now.
Now for the pics.....

Re: Pat the 64
Glad to see you're getting a move on it! Poor Pat has been passed around and left alone long enough
. Can't wait to see the progress.
