Smokers Haze Empty Smokers Haze

My rear window over a two week period of regular driving will fog with a film / haze that you can write your name in. It reminds me of a smokers windows except I don't smoke. It's on the inside and I assume it's smog, burnt oil, fumes, etc from the engine. I have looked and there does not appear to be a breech in the fire wall. Does anyone else have this? Any ideas?

Yes, It is from riding with the windows down. The glass is old and will show dirt easyer.
