Question??
i just got a 69 bug and the other day i tried to crank it and all i could hear was the starter running, it didn't turn over at all... does that mean my flywheel has a bad spot or is it my starter?

Re: Question??
Could be that the started did not engage, missing teeth on the fly wheel, busted starter gear and so on. Turn the pulley to get a fresh place on the fly wheel. Tap on the started with a small hammer while someone starts it.
Re: Question??
Let someone else try to crank it and see if the motor is actually spinning (belt will be spinning). I say this because I did not adjust the valves in my new heads before I tried to crank it. They were all super tight, so much that they were not closing at all. No compression, no sputtering, nada. I adjusted the valves and it fired on the first crank!
