When installing the gaskets on your oil plate and screen after draining your oil and cleaning the mating surfaces, dip your finger in the new oil and dampen the new gaskets with the fresh oil. Just enough so they change color. No need to soak them. This helps the paper gaskets seal better (beleive it or not) and makes it so they don't rip and stick to the metal when you remove them on your next oil change.
