Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
I went to the Aircooled Therapy session at the Bugs 4 Christ shop this past Saturday and while I was there I fixed the beam in this car. When I received the car it had no dropped spindles and was lowered all beam. Whoever built the beam clocked the adjuster way down and because of this the bottom adjuster had been busted. After installing dropped spindles I couldnt drive the car because it was too low. So I bent the adjuster back to where it was suppose to be and used a big washer to keep the adjuster together so I could at least drive the car. To fix the problem for good I pulled the beam out and cut out the broken bottom adjuster and installed a new adjuster. I clocked it up so its new low position was the old high position. It rides pretty good now! I also ordered a stainless running board trim and clips a few weeks back to replace the missing passenger side trim. While I had the car off the ground fixing the beam I installed the trim. I will take some pictures of the car when I get a chance!

Yesterday I threw on the old Tanbug Jim Dandy roof rack and used a set of blue luggage that I picked up from James and went to the club cruise in and the local cruise in.

sweet lil Vdub for sure, and all the best with the little guy. we've raised two boys and it has always been great.
My younger one took me to the Falcons game today. We had a fine time.

I finally scraped up enough cash to buy me some new interior....$737! I bought a set of foam seat pads, water blue seat covers and door panels! Now I just need to get the seats tore down, blasted, primed, and painted

Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Maybe the picture works now? Not that it is a big update as I haven't installed anything yet.
Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
I ran some new heater cables today. I still need to do a few other things before I will have the heat fixed though....including fixing/replacing the broken flap on the passenger side...

Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Yup its not cheap.....and you can add another $100 if you want matching arm rest/door pulls
Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop

Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Sunset was really nice yesterday on my way home from town. I had to pull over and get a picture.
Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Finally found me another rear seat to complete the set out of Pat. The plan is to strip those seats down, fix, blast, prime, paint and recover them with the water blue covers I bought. Then since the seats currently in the car are not torn up, I will use them in Pat until I can afford to recover them. I picked the rear seat up from David today in Cartersville. I brought it home and pulled the covers and padding. Last week I stripped the front seats down. Now I am ready for blasting.
Check out the vinyl on the seat back...pretty awesome looking
Whats funny is the covers that were under the white covers on the front seats in Pat had a similar pattern but were a different color.....the top is the seats from Pat and the bottom is the rear seat I got from David.

Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Today when I got home from Cartersville I had a couple of packages waiting on me. I got my water blue arm rest and my super pop out latches. After tracing the latches so I can build another set or two for my other cars I installed them.
Re: 1961 Gulf Blue Ragtop
Those latches look awesome. How are they on the road. Any pics of your interior installed.
