nosecone- wont come off

m trying to remove the nose cone from a 64 swingaxle.

I took all the bolts off and the nosecone will lift about 1/2" but i cant get it all the way off.
wht could it be hanging up on? Is there a trick to this?

Did you try shifting? in, out, rotate. Been a while, but it seems like there's a sweet spot that the hockey stick needs to be in, for the cone to come off.

It's been a while, and this is my knee jerk reaction, I may be wrong.

i tried rotating the shaft i can get it to turn abt 45° but still no luck-

try to pull it out in neutral if that does not work you probally have a bent rod,you can give it a little extra pull just dont use a pry bar

thaanks- got it out- hockey stick was really stuck in the nose cone. gave it a few light taps with a mallet and it came off..
