Brake issue
Brakes went out so I put on a new master cylinder , adjusted and bleed the brakes and still no pedal. Do I need to adjust the rod off the pedal? Any help

Re: Brake issue
Adjust the brakes on all 4 wheels out, tight against the drums. Then bleed. Then back them off. Hopefully this works. I personally use a vacuum brake bleeder from harbor freight. They say it shouldn't work, but it has for me. Don't mess with the rod.

Re: Brake issue
Not normally how much free play is in your.pedal. should be half to 3/4 inch pedal free play before rod hits master piston. Check for leaks in your system Esp the rear brake line running on the floor. Bleed brake light switch also.

Re: Brake issue
I wouldnt touch the push rod. Sometimes these new master cylinders can be tough to get to bleed. That is if it isnt defective.

Re: Brake issue
What had happened a lady pulled out in front of me I locked the brakes up. Then the next time I tried to stop no brakes. I've put on a new master cyl., line going to rear, bleed every thing, adjusted the brakes and still no brakes if I can't figure this out there will be a 67 bug going cheap

Re: Brake issue
Get an OE brand one. It's made in china but it's the best for the money. The German one is triple the cost.
