I'm trying to figure out what tires I should get for the square. I already have 135's and I rub(bad). I'm looking at 165/45/15 because I need to get the front down but I don't know how they are going to look on stock 15x4. So I looked at 145 65 15 but they don't seem small enough..... please help. I need to order them soon. Pictures would help. Thanks

If 135s rub 165s would really rub. Get something 135 or smaller.

I think the 165 will be a lower profile, but will be wider.  You should get an extra inch of clearance between the top of tire and edge of wheel well, however, since the tires are a little bit wider it'll also be around 15mm closer to sitting under the fender edge.

Tire Size Comparison

Specification  Sidewall  Radius  Diameter  Circumference  Revs/Mile
165/45-15        2.9in      10.4in    20.8in         65.5in        967
135/80-15        4.3in      11.8in    23.5in         73.8in        858

The second result isn't on a square but it does show how big they are.

this is not Raymond's notch, but one I found on the samba.  (just look at the front end, and imagine a square back end)  Laughing

Tire like this doesn't stick out past the rim much so no problem there. I never use anything smaller than a 165/50/15
