1/4" is just a little bit smaller than the OG 7mm.
Most auto parts stores have it.

I don't think 1/4 would be a problem unless you're using it on the pressurized section of a FI system. Then you better be sure to use the 7mm fabric coated German stuff.

My 2 cents worth..... The german fabric 7mm line is more durable than the rubberized 1/4 line. The 1/4 line can harden, crack and become brittle quicker than the German stuff. If you are not in a hurry or stranded, I recommend the safer more durable German. I would think some of the VW shops around Atlanta would have some. Another option is to look in the yellow pages for a hydrollic shop that makes lines up for commerical trucks, forklifts, etc. They usually have it too.

My two cents......With the amount of ethanol in gas today you have to constantly change your lines....including German ones....so 1/4" rubber line with clamps will be fine

I have some fuel line and clamps on the way in the mail. Went camping last weekend but didn't spring a leak until Tuesday thank goodness. It's the line under my Bus near the transmission and I have the Type 1 engine.

Should I be looking to do a hose replacement around the tank somewhere too? I have a Bentley and looked through it the other night but it seemed the fuel hose sections were kind of lacking. Then of course I searched Samba and was swamped by posts that mixed early and late Bays not to mention the usual Samba attitude.

So I was hoping someone local has done this recently. I've had mine a year and a half now and while I've learned much, I haven't done this job yet.
