What is this crimped off connection?
I was investigating the fuel injection air flow path of my 1979 Super Beetle and came across this metal tube that was cut and crimped shut. (The arrow points to it in the photo.) It goes into the front side of the air intake distirbutor. I think I know what this is for, but I'd like to get confirmation from others. What do you think it is?

Looks like a crank case ventilation re-circulation hook up. Pure speculation, but that is what it looks like.

It is a vent line that goes there.

Re: What is this crimped off connection?
My guess is that it comes from the charcoal canister that one of the previous POs disconnected and removed. I've found other tubes/hoses that were cut and just left hanging.
If this were for the crank case ventilation, where would my crimped line connect to?
