Max tire size

What is the max size tire I can put on all 4 rims without scrubbing? Thanks!

Are you planning on keeping the factory stance or lowering it a bit?

I Like the lowered look but plan on keeping it stock. It has adjustable coil over shocks on it right now. I have them on the highest setting and there is quite a bit of gap that needs filling. I want a wider tire than the stock ones and still sit up high.

The link you posted shows a 5 x 130 bolt pattern, and your car is 4 x 130 pattern- that means you need to run adapters  or have your drums re-drilled

Wrong link. I meant to post the 4 by 130mm . No redrilling for me!

Actually they don't have the 4/130 mm. Only 5/130:shock:. What would I need to do to make them fit?

I would buy new drums drilled for the correct bolt pattern. 
Or find some wheels you like with that pattern.

I wanted to upgrade to disc all the way around. Would they come pre drilled for the 5 bolt pattern?

yea you can get rotors in 5x130

I haven't looked how much, but do you know how much they would be off the top of your head?

I found one website and they want 70$ a rotor. Is there anywhere cheaper?

you will prob have to narrow the beam to have the wider wheels and the disk brake kit so it dosnt look funny

you really dont need disks in the rear. i had them just on the front of my bug and it did just fine

Do just disk up front and drums in the rear with your fav bolt pattern that's all ya need. Save the cash for the big HP engine

my local tire store i use to get all my tires wether vw , honda , or what not  usually has a way to measure for exactly what you need that way you have no issues . i use to just guess by used ones and ride and always had problems since i had a much lower stance but yet to have problems.   if you are keeping it stock height you shouldnt have issues unless going super wide or with a super big rim.!  new tires always best and are one of the most important things on a car

I like 195s but not sure if the width will scrub. What is the max width I can have on 5.5 w rims and not scrub?

195 is a good width anything over that you start pushing the threshhold on your gas milage and wear and tear 205 is the max depends on backspacing its the key to the correct tire suspension formula.

call buggeyed  they probably have the kit for up front an you can buy drums for the rear

Yeah. I don't feel like shelling out 600$ for disc. All I want to do is the cheapest and safest way to be able to get my 5 lug fuch wheels on my bug.
