early 60's handmade rail
bought this buggy in late december feel as if it needs its own page... i was posting in my bus post so this is where and how i got it [img][/img]

The green leaf is cover up the motor in the front. so i bought it from a buddy of mine saw it in his parents yard and he told me that it was his fathers at 16 . that him and some friends built it early 60s so it may be earlier it had been in them woods for 30 years thats the age of my friend and it had been parked there for several years. was complete but nothing seemed to work. i gave 100$ for it.started offf getting the hubs off to do the nesscary brakes lines and all had to get 4 new everything .

got it it then shop

have it all sanded down rusted parts replaced bought some racing seats and stainless steel sheet for the floor have the whole thing primered down finally using rattlecan was hoping to do the paint this weekend but looks like it be tom. or the next day have more pics of how it is now

check out the exhaust on ths thing does any one know what kind it is or is it just homemade this is how i wanted to put it back thought about building one as far as i know i am putting a 1600 pancake on it! done more work on it this weekend so the middle tubes are shiny black now and polished up some hubcaps and the rest in primer

Thats a great looking little rail. You should be able to pull the front wheels off the ground with a stock engine. Can you put it on the street?

when i got it it had tailights and all so im sure i could put it back with some kinda setup where i live its family land so mom and dad grandmother and aunt uncle live on the same 60 something acres . and across the street another 300 i can ride so it will be a means of transportaion and fun around the 100 acre woods . one day i may puting led blinkers and stop lights on it. oh and as my three year old says it is his not mine lol

yea i have a feeling with my foot the front will stay off the ground so i thought of hooking up 2 ebrakes one for left one for right that way ill be able to turn when the fronts up just a thought for now though.

got the passenger side mount brackets in today and mocked up the mount plate . was trying to think of an idea to make it adjustable but i think its gonna be fixed. so made pattern for floor first found out its harder than i thought then im putting stainless floors in and found its harder than i thought got to get more cutoff wheels tom.

yea i got blue paint for the main rails and itll be accented in green hey what you have is what you use on projects like this!actually was given the blue paint and had bought a quart of ready spray green

Got my dad to cut me out some mount plates for the seats also got all the hard ware to mount them [img][/img]
cut the floor out this morning and got it fitted. gonna hopefully weld it by weds. got the mounts cut drilled and ready to install[img][/img]
debating what to do with the floor paint it, leave it all shiny polished up or scuuf a spot and put a decal of bugs4christ on it the paint over it and have shimy club name with blue around. any one have any ideas?

ok i got my buggy where it needs to be minus paint and motor . put tires on and rear tires were pushed hard against frame of buggy not sure of tire size bout from a guy local and painted but the tires hit the frame and wont roll only 3 bolts a 1/4 ay in any suggestions? other than new tires! neone ever fliped rim backwards? thoughts on making spacers need a lil more than an inch on wide 5s?

You can flip them around but if they have clips you will have to remove them.

I had to flip around my wide five rims so the 33"tires wouldn't rub on my old mud buggy. They have been that way for about 10 years now without any problems.
